Interview with Steve
Something that I should've done weeks ago--digitize my interview with Steve Clemens for my KWLC program--I have now done. You can listen to the mid-December interview in MP3 format here.

To the Beltway
Got my ticket to go visit Micah during J-Term Break. How exciting...I will be flying Midwest. They're the ones that have the leather seats and bake the chocolate chip cookies in-flight. That will be a nice diversion for sure. Micah lives in the Commonwealth of Virginia near the District of Columbia (or Colombia as he insists on spelling it). I want to visit the Library of Congress Reading Room this time as I've only ever been in the (excellent) cafeteria there. Micah got a new job recently at a consulting/lobbying outfit. They are either trying to get legislation requiring schoolchildren to smoke or deregulate cable. I can't remember which.
Anyway, I have my first test tomorrow (today) in my J-Term poli sci class, wish me luck but I don't think I will need it.

Not really that funny
With all due respect to Mr Paul Scott who runs DecorahNews.com and does a great job of reporting local news and events, this commentary/joke is really not that funny.
Saturday 1130
J Term is going great. I really like my class, although we watched a film called "Heroes of World War I" that glorified the "war to end all wars" and that was one of the nastiest, most pointless wars ever.
Did news this morning and then listen to a Maryknoll Voices of Our World program on the death penalty that was really depressing. Next week I will have a good live show, and I'll post the details later this week.

J Term starts tomorrow
I arrived back in Decorah at about 20:45 Central Standard on Monday. I thought I would be one of the last of the crowd to return, but Aaron Murphy and Joseph Glazebrook were just leaving Des Moines and Edina, respectively when I got here. So good for me.
The drive was uneventful...Stopped off at Chipotle in Rochester then into the fog that completely covered the road on US 52. Set up my new laptop and am listening to the radio as I type this...I should be off to bed. J Term is tomorrow and I think I will like it.
Wicked Pawlenty announces his anti-immigrant crap today (Tuesday) so stay tuned for my sickened reaction.
