Thanksgiving

By the way, a hearty Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Laughter

So much has happened since I last posted...Of course on 8 November I was in Minneapolis to serve as an election judge. Our turnout was fairly low--but the day went very smoothly and we did get some ssame day registrations. Obviously, whoever was elected would've been a DFLer so I wasn't too heartbroken over the outcome. I do hope that Rybak works on crime issues though.

I got back into Minneapolis on Tuesday. On Wednesday night I saw the new film"Jesus is Magic" with Micah. I thought I might die laughing. Seriously, die. For those of you who know how I laugh, you can only guess how loud it was. I really thought I might die laughing--which would really be the best way to go in my opinion. See this movie. Please.

Small towns

I went to Monona, Iowa to see their high school's production of "The Sound of Music" because Anthony Snitker, a PSEO kid who goes to Luther was in it. Let me say, I don't know how my mother survived living in Crosby--or how Anthony manages in a town of 1200 people. Decorah has the college and is fairly progressive, but some of these small towns outside Winneshiek make me nervous. Anyone who grows up as a lesbian or gay male is brave indeed to be in these sorts of places. I am generalizing a lot and I know there are plenty of small towns that are great, but it still makes me very thankful to have grown up in the City of Lakes.

Oh man

So it turns out that the United States through the CIA is running prisons to torture people in Europe. And we have the gall to criticize China and Cuba on human rights. At least they're upfront about what they do.
